Not only do we deal with discrimination within our race but Corporate America even has an employment clause that forces them to hire minorities (blacks) only to fill a quota. Think about your current situation and honestly answer...Do you hold your current job because you were the most experienced of all the candidates who applied or because an equal employment agency said they needed one more "darkie" on the team.
**Would it be fair when that same black skin that landed you the job, is the same black skin that routinely gets you passed over for a promotion?
**How would you feel about being hired only to satisfy a requirement....what about when that requirement backfires in your face and the light skinned black person who knows less than you is promoted before you?

Well I for one would not care if i were hired because i'm black. It's about time our skin color worked for us, (even though i'm Indian)
Well I for one don't care if I was hired becasue I am black because you can best believe my skin tone won't KEEP me there, my skills will.....
you'd be mad if your blackness prevented you from getting a supervisor position. You know that you're going to be doing teh same job with no growth for 60 years all because they think you have a bad attitude. That's not a healthy environment.
I wont be mad if it got me in but I for damn sure wont stay stagnant. No one can keep me doing the same position with no room for growth under no circumstances. YOU have to be your own motivational force and stive to achieve more out of your life.

If you allow yourself to shine, and do an over-the-top job, your skin color just get u in, your skills make you excel. One thing i've learned about our Caucasian brothers, if they like you, they'll do more for you than any "Brother" will do in the workplace. I know that from experience.
Why do black people feel as if they need their own everything like Miss Black America Pageant. What's wrong with the traditional one. If we held an annual Miss White America pageant black people would be outraged and calling Jesse Jackson for equality.
well arm charm that happens anyway whether we know it or not, and im sure my job THOUGHT they were gonna have the same prejudices however my skills were unsurpassed by any one else here so they have no choice but to do what's best for the BUSINESS and not what's best for their personality....
Because Brad no one of color is ever recognized properly in "traditional" anything. If you are honest (and that's if you can see beyond your own hypocrisys) you can admit that "traditional" usually means white, because they started it. But just because someone started something doesn't mean its the ONLY way to go. If that is the case there would be no such thing as BET...

Brad, we (minorities) choose to have our own pageants because there just aren't enough of us represented in the Ms. America that we a re familiar with. I don't think we would have a problema with a white person participating the same way we didn't have a problem with a white person earning Valedictorian at a HBCU. Black people although we've had our struggles in America are not bitter...we are still fighting to have our own identity and not having to conform to what "they" consider the norm. Take hip hop for example. This art was unaccepted from the start but we kept it going. Now it is a culture and has Dominated the pop charts for the past 10 years. Everybody wants someone r&b or rap on their hook. If you don't want us to participate we'll do our own thing and take over. Thats all.

Being black only helps you so far, you gotta prove that you deserve to be there because they think NOTHING of firing you and telling their superiors "well we tried, but it just wasn't working out, you know how 'they' are..."
You have to be twice as qualified to stay in a job that you were picked for solely because you are black..trust me
Pride is going to bethe demise of the black race if we don't get it together. Yes corporations have affirmative action emplyment rights in place to make sure that we aren't left out. Needless to say Leon Doe from the mail room isn't going to become a boardmember because he's black. They are going to select a qualified african american to do the job.
People you are not going to keep a job because you're black and yes you are replaceable. This isn't the 40's. A vast majority of Black people are qualified plain and simple. Stop thinking that you're in CA just because you're black. They could hire a Phillipino satisfy that same minority void.
or Cliffton they could out source your entire LOB (line of business) to India and pay them a fourth of what they pay you if you really want to know the truth.
