To Snip or Not To Snip

Vasectomy vs. Tube tying .......

I was shocked to find out that a lot of couples have disagreements as to who will cut off their ability to reproduce once they have completed their family. Women feel that having their tubes tied is a longer recovery period opposed to a man who can get snipped and be back on his feet in no time. Who should be responsible for the permanent sterility in a relationsip?

I chose this topic because a friend's relative is alomost fifty and just found out that she is pregnant. She's pissed because her and her husband both were too stubborn to have a procedure done some 15 years ago. She feels that she is too old to blessed to have an abortion and now this grandmother will have her own bundle of joy in a few month. Talk about teh unexpected.

In my opinion whomever in the relationship, be it the wife or husband who doesn't wan't any more kids should be the one to get fixed.

If you don't want any more kids, then you should take the initiative to fix your body so that it doesn't happen. Heaven forbid we don;t last and then you are out there reproducing and then my chances of finding love are lsimmed because I have lessened my manhood for my ex wife. Women don't even want to get a man's name tattooed on them for this very reason....

Im not getting my tubes tied for that reason alone Dat Nigga. I wish you would go have a baby by some new booty and here I am "Fixed" for the rest of my damn life.

Just have an abortion. It's not that big of a deal.

@ Mr. Right Now just pull out and we wouldn't have that situation!

It is that big of a deal. Abortion is not a form of birth control.

try sticking it in another hole if you don't want to risk pregnancy or abortion or are too lazy or comfortable to do birth control..

women have never been known to get preggo from blowjobs....LOL

I agree if I were the one who didn't want more kids, I would be the one to have the procedure, I wouldn't force my husband to alter himself I am the one with the issue. Me NOT wanting more kids doesn't change from man to man, if I don't want none I aint gon want none...

Anonymous said...

But what if you and your hubby don't work out and you meet a WONDERFUL man and want to give him kids, then what do you do?

Anonymous said...

Who said that somebody wants to put your peter in their mouth. It's only one hole that Johnson will enter and it wont be by rear or an oral fixation.

I don't like planning for failure so hopefully I won't have to deal with that bp08....

Anonymous said...

well arm charm you prolly don't have the "don't wanna get preggo and my man won't get fixed" syndrome.. Until you do you won't have to worry about the orafice that is being entered.

I was merely offering a suggestion to those who don't want to take the sensible route of BC....

Anonymous said...

Im just saying, sounds like you was telling women to put it in our mouths as an only option....LOL!

I believe that both parties should undergo the procedures together. That way no one feels as if they are sacrificing more/less than the other in a relationship.

I think a procedure of this nature will send a man out with bad intentions knowing that he can't get anyone pregnant. It may actually work in his favor to continuously commit acts of infidelity with no consequences.

I have a friend who doesn't want more kids and she and her husband have been married for over 10 years. We have this conversation all the time about us not wanting more than the 1 child we have and she says that her husband would probably want more kids if she wanted to, but he was the one that got fixed!!!

Anonymous said...

WELL DATS HIM FIREFLY..

If I was married and my wife didn't want more kids, she would straight have to deal with BC and me and rubbers. If she wasn't willing to have the operation then she outta luck..

Like I said females won't even get a nigga named tattooed on their body, but you want me to undergo an operation?!

Welcome Kenya, and Mr % Ms Right....

Yeah I thought that was backwards since she was the one always stressing she's not "equipped" mentally to have more. I feel that if I know for a fact that I don't want anymore and I'm at a certain age (too old) I would definitely do it. I couldn't bring myself to ask my husband to do it.

Anonymous said...

damn I didn't know you can get preggo at 50 years old! Now that's funny! That kid would be one young uncle or auntie!

Anonymous said...

No matter your age, if you are still having a period, you can get pregnant.

Anonymous said...

Well I really only want one kid but given the correct circumstances I could be persuaded to have another by my hubby so I wouldn't get my tubes tied and I would never ask a man to get fixed. If I decided I don't want anymore kids ever I would do my part to make sure it doesn't happen!

This also brings up concerns about issues that can arise with having a child late in age such as mental as well as physical challenges in both the mom and the child. I have a friend whose mom had a child late in age and that child was born with so many issues...

Anonymous said...

what are the chances that a child would be retarded if a mother has it late in age?

Anonymous said...

THAT IS WHAT IM TALKING BOUT DOMINIQUE...

you the one with the concerns should do everything in your power to ensure that it doesn't happen.

There was an episode of My Wife & kids with Damon Wayans and they were going through this very same thing. Tisha Campbell big head ass felt that Damon shoulda got one because she didn't want to get preggo again, I though that was soooo unfair. She withheld sex from him and everything!!!

She woulda been mad if he dipped out on her big head ass. That show was very very one sided and unreasonable. Hell I thought I was watching Lifetime..

The International Male Bashing Network...LMAO!!!

My aunt was a lil older when she had my cousin. He was fine, the only thing weird about him is he acts old as hell!!! LOL

lmmfao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it depends on the health of the mother if the child will have issues during a late aged pregnancy!

Downs Syndrome risks are a lot higher when a woman has a baby at a later age.

Anonymous said...

what exactly is Downs Syndrome? I work witha girl who had this dumb look on her face all teh time, and we used to joke a call her Downs...

She later told us that it was in her family really heavily..

We never called her downs again...

AiR FoRcE 1 said...

Downs Syndrome is a delay with physical and/or mental development. Some cases are a lot worse than others which require 24 care or no care at all.

Anonymous said...

You will also find high cases of Downs Syndrome with people who have babies by their family members like in Indiana.

Lmmfao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

on no not the inbreds...

not that I am a fan of that, because I think its nasty as hell. But you would think that your own family genes would only strengthen your gene pool....

LMAO!!!!

AiR FoRcE 1 said...

Well it's too much of the same gene and nothing to balance it out.

To all of you men talking this birth control shit...who do y'all think wants to be on the pill until they are 60? For real, go get a little snip and be done with it.

Anonymous said...

.....Uh, after menopause you can't have any more children, so the vast majority of women out there won't have to take birth control until you're 60. Y'all must be bored today, if you don't want kids then use BC (vasectomy, tubes tied, condoms, pills, patches, shots, spermicide, LOL diaphragms, the pull-out method, whatever.... and if your method fails, you have your own self to blame. If your partner has a problem with it them find someone else that doesn't and if your marriage mate has a problem with it, then you shoulda talked about it before you married them.....

H2O said...

Right back at you airforce, in life when youhave a problem do you look to someone to solve it for you, or do you solve it yourself...

Take a pill...

Take my manhood....

no brainer....

I am H2O and I approve this message!!

Anonymous said...

Well if I don't wanna have a kid with someone I will not and that's real talk!

H2O said...

see that is the thing DD, you have that right, but what kills me is women have lobbied for pro-choice methods for years because they didn't want someone (men in general) telling them what they were and weren't allowed to do with their bodies..

How is this different when you are suggesting that I get a major operation so you won't get pregnant. What if I don;t mind having more kids, and you just don't. I would be more liable to accept that you didn't want to have any more if we were married and YOU got the operation, then if you told me I had to...

Okay TS no one can get pregnant "after" menopause but you can get pregnant during. You even stated that a vast majority of women don't have a cycle at 60. That's true, but what about the few who are still "changing" in our 50's. The Va Jay Jay doesn't stop working at 40. There is no person alive who wants to use a contraceptive with their spouse every time they get busy. So speak for yourself.
